A brief overview of board elections since 2017

2023 election

12 candidates stood for four seats on the SoA Board. The elected candidates are Helen Fields, Nadine Matheson, Nikesh Shukla (resigned April 2024) and Julia Williams.

They join Vanessa Fox O’Loughlin (Chair), Charles Harris, Abie Longstaff, Juliet McKenna, Nicholas Rankin and Hugh Roberts. Read more

14 candidates stood for four seats on the SoA Board. The elected candidates are Harriet Evans, Vanessa Fox O’Loughlin (re-elected), Abie Longstaff (re-elected) and Nicholas Rankin. 

They join Charles Harris, Joanne Harris (Chair), Dorothy Koomson, Juliet McKenna, Anne Rooney, Hugh Roberts, Margaret Skea and Philip Womack. Read more


2021 election

Six candidates stood for four seats on the SoA Board. The elected candidates are Charles Harris, Juliet McKenna, Hugh Roberts (re-elected) and Tim Tate. 

They join Simon Cann, Vanessa Fox O’Loughlin, Joanne Harris (Chair), Dorothy Koomson, Abie Longstaff, Anne Rooney, Margaret Skea and Philip Womack.


2020 election

A record 15 candidates stood for four seats on the SoA Board. The elected candidates are Dorothy Koomson, Anne Rooney, Margaret Skea and Philip Womack (re-elected). 

The Management Committee for 2021 will be Simon Cann, Sam Collett, Vanessa Fox O’Loughlin, Joanne Harris (Chair), Dorothy Koomson, Abie Longstaff, Woodrow Phoenix, Anne Rooney, Katharine Quarmby, Hugh Roberts, Margaret Skea and Philip Womack.


2019 election

Eight candidates stood for four positions in 2019. The elected candidates were Abie Longstaff, Joanne Harris (re-elected), Simon Cann and Vanessa Fox O’Loughlin.

They join other Committee members, David Donachie (Chair), Samantha Collett, Ferdinand Dennis, Mary Hoffman, Woodrow Phoenix, Katharine Quarmby, Hugh Roberts and Philip Womack.


2018 election

Four candidates stood for four positions in our annual elections. Samantha Collett, Woodrow Phoenix, Katharine Quarmby and Hugh Roberts were elected.


2017 election

Eight candidates stood for four positions in our annual elections. 1405 members voted and the elected candidates were Ferdinand Dennis, David Donachie (re-elected), Mary Hoffman and Philip Womack.
