SoA Community Hub | SoA Networks launch and coffee morning

Join us in person for the launch of the SoA’s LGBTQ+, Writers of Colour and Working-Class Writers networks. This is the inaugural in-person networking event to celebrate the launch of these new, member-led sessions as part of our community hub programme. Come along and get to know your fellow authors! This is a free event with tea, coffee, fruit and biscuits for all.

This morning event is hosted by the SoA’s Local Groups Manager, Elsa Woodmeade, Head of Events and Engagement, Sophia A Jackson and Office Manager, Andy Lapham and all are welcome. It takes place at the SoA’s office on Bedford Row, London. Places are limited so please register below and let us know of any access or dietary requirements.

About Underrepresented Writers Networks

The Underrepresented Writers Networks are a set of informal, member-led groups hosting online networking sessions for authors who are underrepresented in the publishing industry. We currently have 3 networks: Writers of Colour, Working Class Writers and LGBTQ+ Writers.

To join any of the networks and hear about any upcoming meetings, please contact membership@societyofauthors.org.

  • Our Events space is located on the ground floor of our office. We have a wheelchair ramp at the side entrance of the building. We also have an accessible toilet by the side entrance.

Feeling unwell?

We recommend the following:

  • Staying home if you’re feeling unwell or have flu-like symptoms
  • Washing your hands when coming in from the outdoors and / or before touching your face
  • Applying alcohol hand sanitiser (we will have these on site)
  • We advise attendees to wear a face mask if they feel comfortable doing so
