Brighton and Hove Group: A Lesson on Scrivener

29 May @ 13:00 - 15:00 BST

Free

Join the Brighton and Hove Group on Friday 29 May from 1pm for a lesson on Scrivener.

In this meeting Rebecca Rennie and Michael Benis will offer a 2 hour lesson on Scrivener writing software. Scrivener is a word-processing program and outliner which allows writers to organize notes, concepts, research, and whole documents for easy access and reference. Scrivener is wonderful for large works, collections, or smaller essays or poetry collections. It also formats scripts for playwrights or screenplay writers. As a mostly non-fiction writer and editor, Rebecca has been using the app for almost 20 years. She finds it invaluable for collating hundreds of footnotes and chapters since the Compile to Word/PDF/EPub feature does all the numbering for her.

It is highly recommended that you download Scrivener before the session so you can test it out in real time!

We’ll meet downstairs in the The Regency Town House, 13 Brunswick Square, Hove, BN3 1EH. Tea, coffee and biscuits, including gluten- and dairy-free options, will be provided by group organiser Rebecca for a donation of £3 via SumUp.

The Regency Town House is a charity and lets us meet here very cheaply, so please make a donation as you leave if you’re in a position to do so.

All members welcome!

To attend the meeting, click the Going button below and fill out the RSVP form. If you do not receive a confirmation email, or have trouble signing up, please contact localgroups@societyofauthors.org. To ensure that volunteers provide enough chairs from the storeroom for everyone please email member-volunteer group organiser RebeccaERennie@gmail.com with any last-minute RSVPs or cancellations.
