Copyright Directive receives final approval by EU

Marking the final stage in the passage of the Copyright Directive in the EU, the Council of the European Union has now formally adopted the Directive. This follows the decision of the European Parliament to support this vital piece of legislation at the end of March.

Authors call on Government to tackle online book piracy

Members of the Council of the Society of Authors have written to the Business Secretary, Greg Clark, urging him to take action against online book piracy. The letter has been signed by SoA President Philip Pullman and a further 32 members of the SoA Council.
