Join the Tufnell Park Writers on Wednesday 7 October from 19:00 to hear from the SoA’s Deputy Chief Executive and Head of Contracts, Sarah Burton.

In this session, Sarah will talk about contracts. Whether you’re about to sign one, preparing for future negotiations or just looking to build your knowledge of the business side of writing. Join the SoA’s Sarah Burton for this session offering practical guidance on:

• Understanding copyright and permissions
• Protecting your moral rights
• The essentials of publishing contracts
• Avoiding common contractual pitfalls
• Negotiating with confidence

There will be a Q&A afterwards so if you have a burning question about contracts either trad or Indie now is your chance.

About Sarah
Sarah Burton is Deputy Chief Executive at the SoA and she leads the advisory service, which provides members with unlimited professional advice. Working closely with the team, Sarah supports authors by offering expert guidance on all aspects of the business of writing. As a coordinator of the Children’s Writers and Illustrators Group, a special interest group within the SoA, she has a particular interest in industry issues affecting creators of children’s books.
