Canva for Authors – Authors with Disabilities and Chronic Illnesses Network Meeting

Join us for our next online meet-up on Thursday 25 September from 2pm.

This meeting is on Canva for authors with Jeevani Charika, who runs the group Canva Tips for Authors Community and also has a YouTube channel with detailed tutorials on creating graphics using the free design website/app Canva.

The session will focus on how disabled authors can create accessible images to promote their work and enhance their websites and promotional materials. Jeevani will show us step-by-step how to make the graphics, how to add alt text and the tools Canva has for disabled users.

Jeevani Charika (‘Jeev’) writes award nominated romantic women’s fiction and romcoms. She also writes under the name Rhoda Baxter. She is a ‘resting’ microbiologist – she used to study Rhodabacter species, which is why her other pen name is Rhoda Baxter. She lives in Yorkshire in the UK, where she enjoys eating cake, playing with Lego and, when she’s run out of excuses, writing.

About the Authors with Disabilities and Chronic Illnesses Network 

The Authors with Disabilities and Chronic Illnesses network is a member-led peer support network aims to break feelings of isolation by connecting authors facing common experiences, in an online community that offers continuing professional and personal support.

We run monthly get-togethers using Zoom, where you can chat informally online with others. Depending on your computer or device, you can take part either using audio or video. Please let us know if you have any specific needs that will help you take part.
