Susan Stokes-Chapman is an English author of historical fiction. She studied at Aberystwyth University, where she completed a BA in Education and English Literature, followed by an MA in Creative Writing. A longstanding affinity for Wales – cultivated since childhood – led her to settle in Gwynedd in 2021.

Susan’s debut novel Pandora was released in 2022, followed by The Shadow Key in 2024, a Gothic novel set in the atmospheric Welsh landscape of 1783, exploring themes of social history, folklore, and cultural tradition. She has a short story collection forthcoming in September 2025, and is currently at work on her third novel.

In addition to her writing, Susan is an active member of the UK literary community. She regularly engages with readers and fellow writers through events, mentoring, and educational outreach, including work with the Tŷ Newydd Writing Centre.
