At heart I’m a storyteller. I’m an author, academic, host, creative producer, and writer. Remembered was longlisted for the Women’s Prize for Fiction (2019) and shortlisted for the Jhalak Prize (2020). I also write for children and have six nonfiction children’s titles in Penguin Random House’s Ladybird series. Curdle Creek (Henry Holt/Dialogue Books)—a gothic horror about Osira, a 45-year old widow and resident of Curdle Creek, an all-Black town with a strict population policy of one in, one out—was  published October 2024. I host book launches, podcasts, book clubs, open mics, and other literary events. I enjoy bringing people together over stories and connecting readers and writers. I’d love to have a reading series or talk show.

I am the Academic Director of Creative Writing at Cambridge University Institute of Continuing Education and Senior Commissioning Editor (fiction) at John Murray Press.
