I am a scientist by training and enthusiasm. Starting with a degree in zoology I trained as a clinical geneticist working in the UK, mostly London, Australia, India and New Zealand. I appeared as an expert witness in some of the earliest cases using modern DNA techniques. Later on I started Bewdley Orchids as a company to help our ailing orchid species. Every time I have developed an interest it has resulted in a new book project. In June 2023 The Secret Life of a meadow was published by White Owl Books which I wrote in collaboration with David Morgan. We are collaborating again on our current project Citizen Science in Biology: History and development.
