Tracy Darnton is the author of YA thrillers Ready or NotThe Rules and The Truth About Lies and picture books My Brother is An Avocado and My Sister is a Treasure. Tracy originally studied law at Cambridge and is a former solicitor and senior law lecturer with a PGCE. Tracy has an MA with Distinction in Writing for Young People.

Tracy has appeared at Iceland Noir, MCM Comic Con at Excel, CrimeFest, YALC, Camp YA, Bournemouth Writing Festival, Bath Children’s Lit Fest, Penzance Lit Fest, Waterstones and indie bookshop events, Wychwood Festival, SCBWI author and illustrator conference, and regional library and book awards events.

Tracy loves to encourage creative writing. She’s delivered workshops in schools, with adult learners, and has been an Associate Lecturer in Creative Writing at Bath Spa Uni. She’s been a mentor for Literature Works Word Space scheme to develop writers in the South West and has been the Creative Writing Adjudicator for the Mid-Somerset Festival.

She lives in a quiet village near Bath where she dreams up unusual deaths and her killer endings.
