The major features of Ticiele’s writings are the use of rhymes, poetry and exploration of human agency. Ticiele conveys several significant messages, including the value of people, the incentive to learn music and foreign languages, the preciousness of friends, and respect for parents and people’s choices in life.
The first edition of Vontade de Escrever – ‘Will To Write’ was released at the International Book Fair in Rio, mostly known as Bienal do Livro Rio in September 2015.
The second edition came in 2016 and in the following year, the English version came out. Ticiele has also released the second volume of ‘Vontade de Escrever II’ in 2017.
Since 2015 her works have been featured at the International Book Fairs (BIENAL) in Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Minas Gerais. Ticiele also did an international book tour in Europe, visiting international schools in France, England and Liechtenstein.
Vontade de Escrever I and II were written when the Poet was only 11-12 years old. The book is a collection of poems, stories and Cordel, a folk popular poetry that came with the Portuguese colonisers to Brazil in the 16th Century.
Close to Freedom is Ticiele’s most recent work (2025): it is recounting of the life of Forza, a curious and young girl who resides in London, and the adventures she shares with a brave group of mice along with Hercules, the mice leader, who find themselves in a difficult predicament and needs her help. The story itself is an appeal to young readers, causing them to consider what they do, how they affect other people, and the significance of being courageous and kind.
