Known as the Queen of Teen, Tamsin Winter is a multi-award-winning author who writes fresh, funny and heartfelt fiction for readers aged 10+. Tamsin grew up in a Northamptonshire village where she spent her childhood reading books and writing stories. She studied English literature and creative writing at university, and worked as an English teacher for many years. Tamsin’s debut novel Being Miss Nobody won multiple awards including the Awesome Book Award, the Brilliant Book Award, and the Leicester Teen Fiction Book of the Year. Tamsin’s second novel, Jemima Small Versus the Universe was shortlisted for the Waterstone’s Children’s Book Prize and nominated for the Carnegie Medal. Tamsin is “fast becoming a favourite for young teens” (The Observer). Her fourth novel, Bad Influence, has been selected for the Reading Rampage Award 2024. Tamsin’s latest novel, I Dare You, was the Observer’s YA Book of the Month and has been shortlisted for the Spark! Book Award 2026, Peters Books Teen Book of the Year, the GDST Book Award, as well as multiple regional awards.
Tamsin lives in rural Leicestershire and regularly visits schools for talks and workshops across the UK. She is currently working on a brand new series for tweens.
