Sophie Harris is a horror writer based in South Wales, living with her partner, a very spoiled chihuahua and far too many invertebrates.
Having earned both a BA(Hons) and an MA in English Literature and Creative Writing, she is keen to put her education to good use by pursuing a career in writing.
In 2025, she was selected from a pool of over 2,400 applicants for Penguin Random House UK’s award-winning programme WriteNow. This programme seeks out, nurtures, and publishes new writers from under-represented communities in UK and Irish publishing.
Sophie’s debut novel, Black Rabbit, is a Welsh Folk Horror focusing on themes of identity, culture and tradition. This 95k word manuscript is currently being queried, and Sophie remains optimistic as she developed her other passion projects with the benefit of everything she has learned under the talented Feranmi Ojutiku’s guidance over the previous year.
