Simon Maddrell is a poet, editor, educator and wellbeing facilitator. He was born in the Isle of Man and now lives in Brighton & Hove.
Since 2019, over one hundred and fifty of Simon’s poems have appeared in twenty anthologies and sixty-five publications including Acumen, AMBIT, Magma, Poetry Wales, Stand, The Gay & Lesbian Review, The Moth, The Rialto, Under the Radar.

Simon has a background in development and conservation in Africa’s drylands. He is a world authority on sand dam technology, having founded Sand Dams Worldwide in 2002.
His writing is also influenced heavily by the Isle of Man, and his queer identity. Simon lives with HIV and was recently diagnosed autistic.
