I am a Scottish children’s author and independent publisher based in Moray. I am the creator of Perry’s World, a children’s publishing and creative project built around original stories, characters and ideas.

My debut picture book, The Adventures of Perry the Peruvian Tree Frog, was published in December 2025. The story grew from a collection of songs I wrote many years ago and follows Perry, a Peruvian tree frog whose home is destroyed, leading to an adventure involving friendship and a rescue mission.

I independently publish and manage the Perry’s World business, including publishing, distribution, marketing, retail relationships and direct sales. I have established relationships with independent bookshops, Gardners, libraries and online retailers, and have also undertaken school events.

Areas of expertise:
Children’s picturebook writing.
Storytelling and character development.
Independent publishing.
Children’s book marketing and promotion.
Direct to customer and retail sales.
Author events and school engagement.
Developing children’s creative brands.I also bring over a decade of experience in general management and business operations, which has given me experience in administration, commercial decision making, marketing, sales and running a business.

Current and upcoming projects
My current focus is developing Perry’s World beyond its first book and establishing it as a sustainable children’s publishing and creative brand.

My plans include:

Developing further Perry’s World stories and books.
Expanding relationships with independent bookshops, schools and libraries.
Increasing author visits, readings and community events.
Developing the wider Perry’s World characters and creative world.
Growing the audience for the existing book.
Exploring future educational, merchandise and other creative opportunities.
I am particularly interested in developing my work as a children’s author while continuing to build a sustainable independent publishing business..
