I’m a novelist and short story writer. My work has twice won the Yeovil Literary Prize and been shortlisted for the Bridport, Exeter and Manchester fiction prizes. After graduating in Modern Chinese Studies from Leeds University I worked as a journalist, and while my children were young I studied part-time for an MA in Creative Writing. I now teach creative writing, and review books for Writing in Education magazine. My debut collection, Magpie and Other Stories, was published by Troubador in September 2024. https://troubador.co.uk/bookshop/poetry-short-stories-and-plays/magpie I’m currently working on a novel with the working title Good Children, drawing on my Irish heritage and set in the UK in 1975.
