Samah Chowdhury is a novelist and short story writer influenced by the postcolonial view of writing back against the canon, and inspired by the dark side of the pysche. 

In 2025, she joined Penguin UK’s WriteNow programme, chosen from a pool of over 2,400 applicants. WriteNow seeks out, nurtures, and publishes new writers from under-represented communities in UK and Irish publishing.

She is currently working on Bloodrot, a Gothic vampire horror exploring oppression, loyalty, and desperation as a young woman searches for her missing best friend and is caught in the teeth of a much larger evil than she anticipated.
