I am a translator (French to English) and editor of academic (and related) works, mainly in the fields of the arts and social sciences. I have worked on a large number of books and articles, including English translations of works by Pierre Bourdieu, Jean-Luc Nancy (in collaboration with Cadenza Academic Translations), and Bruno Latour. I am also open to commissions for translation that falls more in the literary domain.
I previously worked as a researcher and teacher in French literature at the University of Oxford. My research specialised in life writing and diary writing in modern French literature. Besides a large number of articles and reviews, I published the monograph Diaries Real and Fictional in Twentieth-Century French Writing (OUP, 2018) and co-edited a special issue of Nottingham French Studies on Diaristic Writing and the Idea of Literature in French and Francophone Writing, 1940–2020 (2022).
