Writing, researching and publishing my debut novel, Prince George & Master Frederick, has been a hugely exciting and rewarding experience. I wanted to investigate a story my grandmother had told me when I was a child – asserting that the family had a connection with Georgian royalty. I decided to research her story and was astonished to discover the life of Frederick Blomberg – the firstborn illegitimate son of King George III who was adopted into the royal family as a four year old infant. Historians barely ever mention him in history books or royal biographies. Having pieced together his story I was compelled to write it as a novel.
Apart from my work as an author, I am also an artist, specialising in paper collage. I also have a background in PR and publicity. I started my career in book publishing, moved into the world of music, theatre, film and then charity. I was a Director at a PR consultancy specialising in promoting art, architecture and design.
I’m enjoying my recent career move as a public speaker, talking about the research into my book and illustrating my discovery with a wealth of images.
