Robbie Taylor Hunt

Writer & Penguin WriteNow alumnus
Children's writer, Horror writer, Playwright, Science fiction / fantasy writer, Scriptwriter, YA writer

Robbie was selected for Penguin’s WriteNow Programme (2025-6) as one of eleven out of 2,400+ applicants. His editors are Ben Horslen & Charis Lowe-White. His debut manuscript, One Thing You Can Feel, is a pacy YA Horror-Fantasy about a teenager who is dragged into a terrifying parallel world whose inhabitants’ deepest fears are physically conjured when they panic. The group must harness their phobias as powers to help them escape, all while avoiding the shape-shifting, bestial creator of this dimension, the Fifth Familiar, who has an agenda of its own…

Think: what if Spiderman was an arachnophobe and stuck in Stranger Things’ Upside Down?

Robbie is a queer Kiwi-Brit who was raised between Essex & Aotearoa and now lives in London with his boyfriend. He’s also a writer for theatre, TV & Film and has had a number of plays performed at Soho Theatre & Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Despite the horror debut he loves writing comedy and stories full of queer joy.
