Rishikesh Lokapure is a contemporary author based in London, UK. He is the author of two acclaimed short story collections: The Trees Sing, which is traditionally published, and All Stories Are, which is self-published.

His work stands out as a distinctive voice in contemporary fiction, capturing the delicate and often unnoticed textures of modern human existence. Moving away from heavy, plot-driven narratives, Rishikesh embraces a modern, slice-of-life realism that relies on simple, unhurried prose and an acute emotional fluency. His stories serve as meditative, character-driven studies that invite readers to slow down and experience the narrative as if it were unfolding in real time.

Before turning to book-length fiction, Rishikesh spent over a decade as a celebrated writer and creative strategist. He also brings his narrative expertise to the performing arts as a theatre writer and stage-show director. Holding academic majors in both marketing and finance, his unique, multi-disciplinary background is vividly evident in his observant, sharp, and disciplined approach to deep, character-driven storytelling.

Rishikesh was born in India and is based in London, UK. His debut collection, The Trees Sing (July 2025), was selected as a US Editor’s Pick. His second collection, All Stories Are, followed in November 2025.

He is best known for his unique approach to writing stories about the moments between people that go unspoken and the emotions that resist easy naming. His stories don’t belong to a single genre. They move between boardrooms and forests, between grief and ambition, between cultures that share more than they admit. His short stories showcase his signature writing style, one that travels cities and continents, and presents observations, experiences and the weight they carry.

Rishikesh has also worked as a ghostwriter for books on finance, memoirs, leadership and mythology. Before writing fiction, he built a career that crossed finance, theatre, advertising, wildlife documentaries, sustainability communications and international consulting — work that took him across Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. He was named Most Prominent Creative Consultant of the Year (Asia, 2021) and recognised among the Top 50 Marketing Leaders in the UAE.

That breadth is visible in his literary works. He writes under his own name and operates as Director of Ruminative Limited, a UK-based creative consultancy.
