Writing has been my career for forty years and during that time I spent almost twenty years writing resource books for primary school teachers, parents and pupils for the top educational publishers. I also wrote for many educational magazines on English, art and early years. Children’s fiction is always close to my heart, and I added that to my portfolio, writing and illustrating fourteen novels for KS2 children that involve animals, chaos, adventure and magic – along with the child heroes. As the technology arrived, I published these independently and sell in schools. History is an abiding obsession, especially the Victorians, the world wars and, also that exciting time, the early medieval period. I now write historical fiction for adults. I’m presently working on my eighth book.
