I live near Norwich, UK, and have been working as a freelance literary and creative translator from German and French to English since gaining my MA in Literary Translation from the University of East Anglia in 2002. I specialise in translating books for children and young adults, as well as crime fiction and other contemporary literature. My non-fiction interests include history, politics, art, journalism and travel. I particular enjoy working on books with wordplay and a touch of humour.
My translation of Hotel Cartagena by Simone Buchholz (Orenda Books) won the 2022 CWA Crime Fiction in Translation Dagger award.
I also completed the Stephen Spender Trust Translators in Schools programme and can offer translation workshops for primary or secondary school pupils, with or without prior knowledge of the language.
Other services include copyediting, proofreading and reader reports.
