Born in Glasgow I’ve spent most of my working life in London. I’ve had a varied career in various aspects of the media, but also always had a great passion for wildlife and love of travel. My two children’s book series are inspired by my interests. Tigeropolis is a fun Middle Grade series about a family of vegetarian tigers trying to save their forest home from any number of threats – it’s based on my experiences of conservation and India’s tiger reserves. My Captain Bobo series is a picture book series for younger readers based on the adventures of a real captain and a real ship – the Waverley – the world’s last sea-going paddle steamer. I have also written one non-fiction book – a social history of the Clyde based around some of it’s best known ships.
I’ve adapted both children’s series for Fun Kids Radio and also co-produced a series for Times Radio about some of the UK’s most iconic ships. I’m also a publisher at Belle Media and Non Exec Director of a specialist travel company – Steppes Travel.
