Peter  is The Grand Bard of Dorchester (2024), The Managing Editor and Publisher of The Jawbone Collective, a UK group of South-West Writers. His often comedic and life affirming poetry covers a vast array of topics from Falling in Love with Your Barista and Finding Love Online to The Veg Box Club and Pescatarian Mermaids!

Peter  is a performance poet, computer geek, and advocate for neurodiversity. As the current Grand Bard of Dorchester, a position he assumed in September 2024, Peter carries forward a rich tradition of poetry and storytelling, administering The Bardic Seat of Caer Dur until Summer 2029. He is also the Founder, Managing Director, Editor, and Publisher of The Jawbone Collective CIC, a Not For Profit dedicated to nurturing and promoting emerging voices in the field of poetry through publication and organising performance opportunities.

Peter’s literary contributions include three poetry collections: Technology Bytes Back (2018), I’m in Love with My Barista (2019), and Love Hertz (2023). He has also published the novella Odin and The Mead of Poetry (2023). Over the last few years his poetry and short fiction has been widely anthologised in print and featured online in various literary platforms, including Siren Poets, Green Words, Three Drops from the Cauldron, Ampersand, Parents Like Us, Despite Knowing, A Jurassic Omnibus, and I Am Not A Silent Poet.

Peter was runner up and Highly Commended in the Hedgehog Press ‘Full Fat Poetry Collection’ competition, runner-up in the Blandford Poetry Prize, long listed and shortlisted numerous times over the last few years in various journals and competitions. Finalist/runner up in multiple slams including – Apples and Snakes South-West, Some-Antics, Hip Yak Poetry Slam (2024), Worst Poet Wins – Exeter Comedy Festival (2024). His performances have captured audiences at many literary and fringe festivals in the UK, as well as international events like Cherry Poets (Melbourne) and The Woodford Folk Festival in Australia.

Beyond his work as a poet, Peter’s dedication to fostering creativity extends to mentoring and growing emerging poets (age 18 to 99) particularly those who are Neurodivergent, Disabled, LGBQTIA+, Women or Working Class. He is a passionate believer in the idea of creativity as a cornerstone for improving mental health and volunteers  as a Health Champion in partnership with the local Social Prescribing team. He organises and comperes regular open mic events for The Jawbone Collective and Apothecary, workshops and showcases for Jawbone and arts council-sponsored events for Arts Organisations, Museums and schools. Through his passionate and enthusiastic contributions, Peter continues to support and grow the landscape of South-West contemporary poetry, inspiring countless others along the way.
