Since retiring from academia I have taken an Undergraduate Certificate and a Graduate Diploma in Creative writing with the University of Cambridge. I then completed a Masters in Creative Writing with the Open University. Together with members of my Cambridge course group, the Icepack, I have published work in two anthologies, Hiraeth-Deep Longing and Sawubona- I See You. We are now writing a third anthology for publication early in 2027. 

Write Space Creative, started by the group, is our publisher and runs online Courses and Master Classes tutored by Cambridge creative writing lecturers. Write Space have recently run a short story competition, for which my submission was accepted. The anthology of short stories will be published soon.

I also have a piece in the anthology, Life Cycle, published by Swanwick Writers School, 2026.

My main writing ambition now is to produce a memoir of my five years teaching in three different eastern European post-soviet countries.
