Oliver Whitefield is a French novelist, living in Kent, whose stories explore the resilience of the human spirit through historical fiction, contemporary drama, mystery, and science fiction. Although his novels span different genres, they are united by a common fascination with courage, hope, redemption, and the choices that define us.
His debut novel, The Black Eagle and the White Dove, was published in 2023, followed by The Professor and I in 2024. The Age of Compliance marks his first venture into science fiction, inspired by a lifelong interest in technology, society, and the ethical questions surrounding artificial intelligence. Influenced by Isaac Asimov’s Foundation trilogy, he set out to imagine a future that is both compelling and unsettling, one that asks not what technology can do, but what humanity should allow it to become.
A member of a local writers’ group in Kent, he continues to develop new novels ranging from medieval adventures and Victorian mysteries to contemporary fiction and speculative futures. He believes that every story, whatever its genre, begins with a simple question: What does it mean to be human?
