NP Cunniffe was born in County Roscommon, Ireland. He holds an MA in Writing the Modern World (UEA) and a BA in English and Film Studies (UCD).

He won a scholarship to the Winchester Writers’ Festival in 2017 and was longlisted for the Bath Novel Award in 2020 for The Vampires of Westminster.

He has self-published a novelette, The Wake: An Irish Ghost Story (2020) and a novella, The Weejee Man (2023), as well as a short story. He has also completed a novel writing course with Curtis Brown and is a member of the Horror Writers’ Association (HWA) the British Fantasy Society (BFS).

He has over several years of experience in academic publishing in Production, Design and Editorial and continues to work full time in research tools and technologies in London.
