Writing Background

Between 2019 and 2023, I worked with indie publishers and we released five novels:

• Colouring In
• The Lines Between Lies
• Secrets We Hide From Ourselves
• Justinian’s Daughters
• The Road Home

In 2024, collaboration with those Indies came to an end which meant that none of the novels listed above was available to buy. Since then, I’ve been focused on self-publishing so that I can release new editions of those five novels as well as all my new work.

New Work

In June 2026, I published an anthology of short stories – Small Scenes in the Scheme of Things. The nine stories span 120 years from 1900, each looking at ordinary lives during times of great difficulty.

I’ve completed a novel set in Tudor England – Matthew Marbury’s Madrigal. A talented young musician, determined to perform his song for Queen Elizabeth, becomes embroiled in espionage, his talents usurped by those guarding the nation’s security. Working hard on fine-tuning this work and plan to published late 2026.

An existential novel – Where the Darkness Ends – is also complete in draft and I hope to publish it in 2027.

New Editions

My objective is to re-publish the five novels shown at the top of this section. It’s been an opportunity to review and, if necessary revise the text, but also to create a new design for both cover and interior. That’s been fun, and energising.
