I retired after a long career in medicine. I live in Stirling, Scotland, and write novels and short stories. I draw on my life experience for inspiration.

My first crime novel Miles Away was published by Bear Press in July 2022. Miles Away was featured at the 2022 Bloody Scotland International Crime Writers Festival, where I was chosen as a ‘Spotlighter.’ A second edition of Miles Away was published in January 2025.

A sequel to Miles Away is currently being prepared for publication (April ’25).

Another novel, Ragged Island, will be published in May 2025. Set in the 2030s, Ragged Island is an international crime thriller, speculating upon life in a new world order brought about by greed and misplaced hunger for power. I started writing the story after the storming of the Capitol in 2021.

Currently without a publishing contract, I am exploring publishing both of the above manuscripts independently. With that in mind, I self-published a collection of short stories – Up the Dollar Road and other Short Fiction.
