I have 19 years experience as a translator for German and English, having worked on a variety of documents in the fields of marketing, sports and travel and recreating English websites, brochures and articles for a German speaking audience.
I am also a volunteer for Translators without Borders and have translated several articles for gospeltranslations.org.
My translation of Jessica Norrie’s “Der Infinity Pool”, a thoughtful (eco) holiday novel with a touch of crime and some romance, was published in 2018.
My translations of Paul Maar’s middle grade fantasy “Eine Woche voller Samstage” and of the illustrated marvel “Once Upon An Ordinary School Day” by Colin McNaughton and Satoshi Kitamura are waiting for a publisher.
Travelogues about 40 walks completed in a year and about my pilgrimage from Chester to Canterbury are in the pipeline.
My awards include:
- Commendation for the Stephen Spender Prize for Poetry in Translation 2015
- Winner of a ProZ.com translation contest
- Longlist for the John Dryden Translation competition 2024
