In 2023 I published my award winning debut book The Grace of a Nightingale: A Memoir of Vulnerability, Hope and Love

It is a book about human vulnerability and learning the deep value of empathy, kindness and self-determination while tackling moral values, absence of moral consideration, mental health and the associated stigma, which often buries those who suffer.

I tell stories about abuse, addiction, mental illness, PTSD, loss, bereavement, marriage, betrayal, faith, hope, forgiveness, nature and animals through the lens of grace, mercy, beauty and love. This book is about perseverance in the face of adversity, child and adult trauma, courage, survival, forgiveness and redemption. Ultimately it is about reconciling hope.

Following it’s publication I was constantly asked by readers: how did I survive? how did I cope? how did I come through it all?

So in my second book The Wisdom of a Nightingale: Insights and Teachings from a Life of Vulnerability, Hope and Love (2025), I not only answer these questions, but also reveal how, despite my traumatic background, I have been blessed with the life I always longed for full of hope, happiness and love.

It goes onto ask what are your deepest longings, hopes and fears? Do you yearn to live more freely, healed and detached from negative emotions: resentment, grief, fear, jealousy, anger, low self-esteem? Do you want some control over the remnants of past hurts and disappointments? Are you searching for a remedy to convert sad memories into happy memories?

If you are willing to embark on a life-transforming journey of discovery in search of your true authentic self, then this is the perfect place to start.

Prior to writing my memoir I had a professional background in nursing, organisational development and lecturing (ethically inspired leadership).
