My name is Mark Lintern. I’m a graphic designer/citizen scientist from the UK. Following a cancer diagnosis myself, and the loss of a dear friend to cervical cancer, I spent 8 years researching the mechanisms that instigate and drive the disease through meticulously studying the medical literature. This culminated in the formulation of a new, revolutionary theory of cancer – the ‘Cell Suppression Theory’ (CST). I published the theory within my book ‘The Cancer Resolution?’, which is available on Amazon worldwide. Written for the layperson to understand, it brings the latest science on cancer into the public domain, with the goal of providing cancer patients with information that can better equip them to make informed decisions regarding their treatment. For this, the book won a literary award in November 2023.
My theory proposes that cancer is a disease of cell suppression, as opposed to cell malfunction – that is, a cancerous tumour arises because key pathways within the cell are suppressed or triggered as a result of intracellular fungal infection – this leads to excessive cell growth and suppression of cell death mechanisms. This challenges the established paradigm that asserts that random DNA damage or damage to cell respiraction drives abnormal cell growth.
This is significant because my theory is the first to fully explain the Hallmarks of cancer, which indicates I have potentially identified the underlying cause of the disease.
