My debut novel, The Women Who Saved Shakespeare, will be published in May 2026. It’s based on the true story of The Shakespeare Ladies Club (1736-1741) who promoted his plays and saved his literary reputation. I will be available to give related talks, readings, and host Shakespeare Ladies tea parties from January 2026.

I’m also a writer of non-fiction. After studying English and American Literature at Kent University, I worked for ten years as a primary teacher and wrote educational resources for CGP Publications.

In 2014, I set up Suffolk Writers Group and started teaching creative writing skills to adults, both privately and on behalf of Inside Out Community. I have since led over 400 workshops and courses, partnering with a variety of organisations and literary festivals. I have also helped to organise many events in conjunction with Suffolk Libraries, Suffolk Poetry Society and BBC Radio Suffolk.

In 2021, I published Thirty Angry Ghosts. Inspired by Terry Deary’s Horrible Histories series, it combines humour, empathy, and social commentary. The thirty poetic monologues have been enjoyed by readers, actors and educators all around the world.

Recently, Terry Deary wrote to say how impressed he was with the concept and execution, calling me ‘a rare talent’ as a poet. You could have knocked me down with a feather!
