Hello, I’m Lynsey, and I love all things picturebook-y.
As someone who discovered reading for pleasure later in life, I want to get kiddos fired up about reading from the get-go. I was a reluctant reader as a child. I don’t remember having picture books, and I don’t remember bedtime stories (or they didn’t leave a lasting impression). I used to skip pages of my school books, much to the annoyance of my primary school teacher. This is why I lean towards humour in my writing: to engage youngsters who think that reading isn’t for them.
My ‘day job’ is working as a copyeditor and proofreader for corporate clients.
During my 25-year- career in communications and marketing, I’ve written for many different audiences and sectors. I honed my craft while working at the National Trust many years ago and still enjoy working with organisations that want to do good for people and the planet.
I joined the Society of Authors to learn, make new connections, and keep my ambition alive!
