About Me

My official author journey began when I released my debut book, Against the Current, on June 16th, 2023

Against the Current is a true story about a member of the first generation of teenagers to be confronted with the lightning speed advances in an online world that continue to challenge their pursuit of a happier and healthier life. It is a memoir that moves from gross misuse to all devices getting locked away, and a struggle to even carry a mobile phone that transforms an otherwise ordinary life into a battle for survival in the modern world. But it is this experience that makes them discover that the need for a balance between staying connected and maintaining a decent level of personal care, is not so peculiar after all.

I have appeared on BBC Radio 5 Live and Talk Radio Europe. I have also spoken to schools, charities, and mental health practitioners, to advise on drawing the line between the benefits and hazards of digital media. This kind of counselling has a great need for all kinds of people and I am devoted to spearheading the greater availability of support as a person understanding what it is like to fall into destructive behavioural habits with online activity during the developments in youth.

Here is also a Podcast where I talk about quiting social media: I Got Back Up – https://youtu.be/N60vh6cGz6M?feature=shared

Due to my experiences with social media and the smartphone as a teenager growing up in the 2010’s, I now have no interactive online profiles. If, however, anyone would wish to contact me, I can be reached via the Society of Authors information email listed on this page.

I am currently working on my second book, about a journey I’d taken across Europe in 2022 without a smartphone or any other online device in my kit list.
