I’m a professional editor of fiction and travel and a former guidebook writer.

I’ve spent thirty years working with novelists and travel writers at different stages of their careers. I offer developmental edits, structural edits, line edits and copyedits for novice and established writers, self-publishing authors and publishing houses.

My fiction portfolio includes literary and commercial fiction, fiction in translation, historical fiction, women’s fiction, romantic fiction, psychological thrillers, crime fiction and spy fiction. My travel portfolio includes travelogues, expat memoirs, travel anthologies, travel history and guidebooks.

As an Advanced Professional Member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (CIEP), I’m committed to maintaining the highest editorial standards and keeping up to date with new developments in publishing.

I’m also a Partner Member of the Alliance of Independent Authors (ALLi), the advocacy organisation for self-publishers.

As a former guidebook author, I researched and wrote many books about Thailand and Indonesia for the travel-guide publisher Rough Guides. The Rough Guide to Thailand won the Thomas Cook Best Guidebook Award.
