Louise Greig lives in Aberdeen, Scotland where her main interests are gardening, photography and writing.

She has won several international writing competitions including:
-Manchester Writing for Children Competition (MMU 2014),
– Caterpillar Poetry Prize (2015 & 2024),
– Wigtown Poetry Prize (2015),
– McLellan Poetry Prize (2017),
– Battered Moons Poetry Prize (2017)
– Caterpillar Story Prize (2018).

She was also a runner-up in The Big Idea Competition (Chicken House) in 2014 & 2018.

Her first childrens’ picture book, The Night Box, (pub. Egmont 2017) has been translated into 10 languages and was short-listed for the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize, the Teach Primary Book Awards and the Klaus Flugge Prize.
Two of her picture books, The Night Box and Sweep, were nominated for the Kate Greenaway Medal. More recently her adaptation of The Little Prince has been translated into 19 languages
