I am a professional Polish-to-English translator specialising in literary fiction and non-fiction, with over four decades of experience bringing Polish literature to English-speaking audiences. I am actively seeking new commissions from publishers and literary agents and am currently available for new projects.
I am a translator, interpreter, teacher and writer. I have been translating literary and specialised texts across a range of fields since 1980. My published translations from English into Polish and from Polish into English include more than sixty novels, among them Dan Brown’s The Da Vinci Code and George Orwell’s 1984.
I am a graduate of the Faculty of English at the University of Silesia in Katowice and of Philosophy of Religion at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków. I am a member of the Polish Association of Literary Translators (Stowarzyszenie Tłumaczy Literackich). This dual perspective—native fluency in Polish combined with advanced academic training in English—enables me to capture both the linguistic nuances and cultural context essential for high-quality literary translation. I have lectured at several universities, including the University of Silesia, Boğaziçi University in Istanbul, and the University of Exeter in the United Kingdom.
I am also the author of three novels: Podróż na liściu bazylii (Travels on the Basil Leaf, 2011, English edition 2024), Mansarda (The Cloakroom, 2018), and Selfie z panem B. (2024).
