I am a children’s writer for EYFS and middle grade fiction with a background as a former classroom practitioner in primary school education. My work focuses on themes such as friendship, inclusion and how actions affect others (making good choices). As an author and educator, I deliver author visits with reading and/or writing workshops to schools, plus author visits to children’s organisations and take part in literary festivals. As a reading advocate, I have appeared on radio broadcasts, podcasts and other online platforms discussing the importance of reading for pleasure and ways to engage children with reading. I also deliver talks to student teachers about reading with their class and how to use books in the classroom as a springboard into different types of activities. Currently, I am working on a new picture book that promotes role play in the early years, plus a sequel to my middle grade fantasy-detective novel, ‘The Tombstone Detective Agency’.
