A passion for gothic literature, magic realism and faerie folklore sparked Kate’s writing life alight in her youth, creating short stories for the students she worked with as a teacher for over twenty years.

Kate is the author of Driftwood & Amethyst and The Pixie Plot. She writes stories and poetry which tiptoe on the edge of magic and folklore while rooting themselves in reality. She lives in South Yorkshire with her two sons and four cats and her days are spent writing, reading, researching and being Mum all to a constant stream of great music.
