Arthritis in her hands and wrists ended Kate High’s forty-year career as a designer/silversmith and jeweller. In her mid-sixties, when arthritis made hammering and forming difficult, she took a leap of faith to attempt to become a published writer.

Kate took a writing course at The Faber Academy, followed by one at the UEA.

While Kate resides in the flatlands of Boston, Lincolnshire, her literary world is a captivating contrast. Her first four books are set in the undulating, picturesque landscape of the Lincolnshire Wolds. The fictitious town of Castlewick, based on Horncastle, acts as a charming backdrop for her mysteries.

Kate has had four cosy crime books published in the Lincolnshire Wolds mystery series.

Small Acts of Deceit – Kate’s fifth novel is a thriller. It’s publication date is 28th May 2025
