I enjoy working with the written and spoken word (and all that lies behind it) — fluidly transferring Polish to English.

I am a professional Polish-to-English translator and Polish-English interpreter. I was brought up in a Polish family in London and studied French, Russian and Polish at Cambridge University. Following a London-based career in business (business information systems and accountancy), I moved to Manchester and returned to my roots working with languages.

I have translated Impressions of America by Konstanty Buszczyński and The Evil Neighbour, the memoirs of Poland’s military attaché in Berlin in the 1930s, as well as numerous book extracts (fiction, crime, fantasy, narrative non-fiction), for example for the Polish Book Institute’s New Books from Poland catalogue.

As part of the New Writing Northwest project, I translated the opening chapters of Daniel Odija’s The Sawmill, a striking portrayal of rural life in Poland in the early 1990s. Ongoing projects include translating a techno-thriller set on the International Space Station (due to be published by HarperVia in 2025) and a gritty composite novel about serious crimes involving Polish immigrants to the British Isles.
