Crime writer, YA writer

Karina Andrusiak is a Ukrainian writer working across psychological thrillers, young adult fantasy, and war-related fiction. Writing under the pen name Lora Fray, she began her literary career before the full-scale war in Ukraine and has continued it in exile.

Her stories explore identity, displacement, and human resilience, often blending emotional depth with suspense and imagination. Her earlier novels were published in Eastern Europe under her pen name, and her latest psychological thriller is forthcoming in English via a hybrid publishing model.

One of Karina’s novels was previously accepted for publication by a traditional publisher, but the release was halted when the publishing house ceased operations. Undeterred, she continues to write, publish, and pursue her literary path with resilience.

Now based in the UK, Karina is a member of the Society of Authors and Sutton Writers. She writes in both Ukrainian and English, committed to telling stories that honour her roots while reaching a wider audience.
