I have written books on female creativity, The Creative Feminine and her Discontents. Routledge, 2008. On art and ways of seeing, Art, Memoir and Jung, Routledge, 2021, and on the landscape artist Richard Long, On the Track of Richard Long, Smokehouse Press 2014. I am especially interested in the ways in which art can inform our understanding of ourselves.

I am at the present working on a memoir about illness and the body.

Because of my previous career as a psychotherapist I am tuned into the unconscious and psyche in all its forms.
