I am an educational writer.
Outside of writing, I work in higher education as a learning development tutor, teaching and supporting the academic and writing skills development of undergraduate and postgraduate students. I am a qualified teacher, gaining QTS in 2005, and taught in state schools in London and Cambridge for 13 years. More recently, I have taught pre-sessional English for Academic Purposes (EAP) courses in universities and TEFL in UK-based summer schools. I have also worked as a Writing Fellow at Boston University’s summer study abroad programme.
As well as educational writing, I also enjoy writing poetry, flash-fiction, and creative non-fiction in the form of essays. I was shortlisted (made the final 10) for City Lit’s Malorie Blackman’s Creative Writing Unheard Voices Scholarship in March 2024 and have been shortlisted for the WOW! Women on Writing flash fiction competition.
