Jonathan was raised on a farm (angry bulls and recalcitrant ploughs) in England, UK where he learned to appreciate the joys of milk and phlegm. He went to school (hated it), did electrical engineering at university (never again) then became a Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (nearly his biggest mistake so far).
Working as an accountant for 10 years made him ill, the best thing that could have happened because eventually he met someone who cured and mentored him.
So he took up Chinese medicine and since 1977 has treated people with various kinds of ‘alternative’ medicine, all based around or explicable with Chinese medicine.
He moved to Edinburgh, Scotland in 1982.
Jonathan has a wonderful wife, two adult children, and two grandchildren.
He likes the hypnogogic state you enter as you go to sleep, preferably accompanied by a Mozart piano concerto.
Two days a week he sees patients, and at other times people worldwide consult him via zoom, or he gardens, lectures, plays the piano badly or writes a website (https://www.acupuncture-points.org).
Also, so far, five books, four of which are self-published but seem to sell well.
There are usually several other book on the go, either fiction or otherwise, in various states of disorganisation, mental block, suspension or desperation. Or chaos of course.
