John is the author of Solaris System Management (2001) and Solaris 9 Network Administrator Certification (2003) and a contributing author of two further technical, computing titles.

He specialises in IT/computing titles with over 40 years’ experience in the field of computing, mostly as a senior technical specialist in large enterprise environments, including Government, The Environment Agency, Atos, UPS, BT and EDF.

He recently retired from full-time employment to concentrate on writing and proofreading.

He enjoys proofreading because of the detailed nature of the work and eye for detail and also because he learns so much from the texts he works on. He will proofread any piece, but specialises in:

• Books
• Technical guides and manuals
• Corporate communications
• Leaflets and flyers

He lives in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire and when he’s not working, he can usually be found in his music room with his guitars.
