I am a journalist specialising in reggae music and its many offshoots, otherwise broadly described as bass culture. The majority of my many articles and reviews have been written for specialist publications in the UK, France, Germany and Japan.
I am also the author of several books including the authorised autobiography of Bob Marley’s Wailers; a biography of Peter Tosh and Pressure Drop: Reggae In The Seventies, which was longlisted for the Penderyn Music Prize in 2024. All these titles were published by Omnibus Press between 2008-24.
In addition, I’ve co-authored books with Marcia Griffiths and Maxi Priest, and contributed to numerous radio and television programmes, as well as the occasional film documentary.
