I divide my activities between translation, academic editing and writing and writing poetry and songs. I have just finished a collection of short ditties for children, am currently completing a massive 8000-page translation of Carl Nielsen’s correspondence for Multivers, and am working on my next poetry collection, due out next year. My translations include Jørn Riel’s ‘Inuk Quartet’ (Barefoot books), Knud Romer’s ‘Nothing but Fear’ (Serpent’s tail) and Stig Dalager’s ‘Journey in Blue’ (Peter Owen), which was nominated for the Impac Prize 2008, and a large number of songs, some published by the Danish Højskoleforening as ‘Singalongs etc’ and some to appear in the coming EU Songbook. My own published works include the sonnet sequence ‘From the Black Square’ (Five Seasons), the collection ‘Building in Air’ and, with the composer Carsten Nielsen, a book of songs for singing together ‘To and fro and in-between’, also available online at www.unisong.org My poems have been published in various magazines and some were included in Oxford Poets 2004.
